The Kanien’kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today. Tiohtià:ke/Montréal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations.
Today, it is home to a diverse population of Indigenous and other peoples.
We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within the Montreal community.
A life-long baseball person, Ray Callari has served as President of NDG Baseball for close to half a decade. He played professional baseball in the early 90s and is currently a scout within the San Francisco Giants organization. He has been part of several World Series championships.
Noah Sidel has been involved with NDG Baseball in one way or another for over 30 years. He began as a player with the Grasshopper-level NDG Cardinals in 1988 and played until his mid-teens.
In the 2000s, he was the primary sports reporter for the NDG Monitor and was very close with NDG Baseball and NDG Hockey as a result. He returned to the fold as a parent in the late 2010s and has served on the Board of Directors since 2021.
He was named the 2023 Lac St. Louis Baseball Region Volunteer of the Year.
He is also involved with NDG Hockey as a head coach and Goalie Coordinator.
As a father of two boys who have grown to love baseball through the NDG Baseball association, Franco Puccio got involved in coaching both our house league and competitive teams over the last couple years.
In two years at the Rookie level in Little League before NDGBB joined Baseball Quebec, his teams won back-to-back provincial championships. He has served on the board since 2022.
Director of Coaching & Player Development
Freddy Davy played baseball in Dollard from t-ball until Bantam. An experienced baseball administrator, he started umpiring at age 12 for DDO and later for the Lac St. Louis Region as well.
Later, he became the Umpire-in-Chief for the Dollard Amateur Baseball Association (DABA) for a 2-year term and, in his final year, was the Commissioner for the Senior League as well. While in the role of Umpire-in-Chief, he also sat on the DABA Board of Directors.
He has been part of the NDG Baseball community since his son joined the program in 2022, and he joined the board in 2023. He is also involved with NDG Hockey as a team manager.
A resident of the CDN-NDG borough for over 15 years and a parent and coach of NDG Baseball since 2020. When not on the field, he helps lead and strategize operations teams for startups and scale-up tech companies with over 15+ years of experience in tech.
Joanna Myszka is a lifelong baseball fan and has lived in NDG for 15 years. Her daughter, Ruby, played rookie baseball for the first time in 2022 and the whole family had a blast!
Joanna joined the Board as Secretary in 2022-23 and is very much looking forward to being involved in the organization, which supports team-building and fun-filled baseball summers for kids and parents in our community.
Registrar & Girls Baseball
Having grown up in the West Island, Johanna Miller has been around baseball and softball for most of her life. As a parent, she joined the NDG Baseball community in the late-2010s and has been active as a coach and board member ever since.
An avid baseball fan and a natural teacher, she loves working with our players to develop essential skills and a love for the game.
She is particularly focused on growing NDGBB's girls baseball program.
She was a finalist for the 2023 Lac St. Louis Region Baseball Volunteer of the Year.
Josh Kobernick has been an NDG Baseball parent for several years as a coach and joined the board for the 2023 season to help with uniforms and other important items.
He has extensive experience managing uniforms and merchandise in general, both in his business life and as a volunteer for both NDG Baseball and Cote St. Luc Minor Hockey.
He was the 2022 Volunteer of the Year for the Lac St. Louis Hockey Region.
Melanie Bastos became Treasurer of NDG Baseball in 2023. After living abroad for over a decade, she has returned to the community she calls home and is eager to get involved.
Combining her professional background with a lifelong passion for sports, she is enthusiastic about making an impact on the organization and support the growth of youth baseball in the area.
Lorne Grintuch has been involved in baseball his entire life. Growing up in Calgary, he played community baseball every summer and developed a love for the game at a very young age. He was a big Expos fans even though he was out West!
As an adult, he has coached baseball at the high school where he works and plays softball throughout the summer. Now that his kids are old enough to play organized baseball, coaching them as part of the NDGBB has become a great joy in his life.
Melissa Gencher has been involved with NDG Baseball since 2021, when her son Max started playing at the Rookie level. She began as a parent volunteer on the field, and was quickly welcomed with open arms to the coaching team.
In the 2022 season, she was the proud head coach of the Rookie division champions.
She played softball for many years in her 20s, and has a love of baseball that she is thrilled to share with the kids she coaches.
Coach Michael started working with NDG Baseball in 2023, leading our highly successful technical training relationship with the Concordia Stingers baseball team. He ran bi-weekly clinics in '23 and became a reference for coaches and players in the association for technical and coaching needs.
Coach Michael has joined on as NDGBB's Technical Director starting in 2024 to build on that program and help establish NDG Baseball as a leading force in the Lac St. Louis Region.
Michael played with NDG Baseball from the "Grasshopper" level to Bantam AA in the mid-90s, and then went on to play Midget AAA and Junior Elite for Montreal (1999-2006). He also played for and is a coach with the Concordia Stingers.

At NDG Baseball, we are dedicated to giving every child the opportunity to fall in love with baseball. We are always looking for passionate volunteers who are willing to help run an age division. This role includes helping to create equal teams, manage playoffs, sit in on board meetings and answer general inquiries. We strive to create a safe and comfortable environment for all our players.
From Rally Cap to 18U, we support each child’s individual development and encourage a team-oriented atmosphere. With our team of volunteers, we are proud to offer quality baseball to our community.
