Standard baseball equipment includes all of the above elements.

The mandatory pieces of equipment are:

• Hat

• Baseball glove

• Jock strap for boys, jill for girls

• Baseball cleats or athletic shoes 

• Certified batting helmet

• Certified baseball bat (consult the BQ rulebook before buying). Decathlon bats are not certified and are forbidden
   

Optional pieces of equipment include:

• Batting gloves (optional, but recommended)
  Any form of baseball-specific padding for batters (ie: Elbow or ankle guards)

• A chin piece for the certified batting helmet is optional, but strongly recommended

• Sliding mitts are allowed, but are strongly discouraged unless your player is sliding head-first, which is legal, but not taught or encouraged at the A- or B-levels
